Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles through the skin to provide a beneficial effect.
It is a medically proven therapy that has a history of thousands of years originating in Ancient China.
It is recommended by NICE for Chronic Pain management and Headaches. It is used for many conditions but is most useful for muscular pains.
For an easy to understand and fun guide on Acupuncture, purchase Dr Wong's published book on this from Amazon here.
For a Consultation, please contact Dr Wong at his surgery on
01392 833230 (mention PRIVATE ACUPUNCTURE, and the reception staff will take your number and details so that he can call you back).
Patients registered at the Westbank Practice are not eligible for private treatment.
All new Consultations require a telephone assessment first to see if Dr Wong can provide the best and most appropriate care for you. This may mean he will recommend a more appropriate treatment or practitioner for your needs.
Each session lasts 20-30 mins. This is for both New and Follow up sessions.
There is no evidence-based benefit of the effect of acupuncture related to how long the needles are in. Some treatments take seconds, others minutes. Overall, it is very safe and effective, provided it is used in the right hands, for the right condition, and for the right patient.
